1758 GREAT BRITAIN The LAST SILVER "SHILLING" of George II >The Last BATTLE KING
    Description
This is a beautiful, sterling silver
    "Shilling"
from Great Britain. It was struck at the Royal Mint in 1758 during the reign of King George II. It was the last date Shilling struck for the second George. He died in 1760.
King George II here had a distinction in 1843. In the
    "War of the Austrian Succession"
then raging, he defeated the French at the
    "Battle of Dettingen"
in Germany on June 27. That was the last time a reigning British Monarch appeared on a Battlefield.
    Weight: 6.02 Gram, 26 Millimeter, .925 Silver.

George II, by the grace of God.
    • Laureate, draped and armored bust of George II left. The second portrait to appear on the shillings of George II, this one was designed by John Sigismund Tanner.
    Reverse:

    The Coin:
A pleasing example, it saw some hands, earning some marks and wear while it was about it. Fully original, it has never been cleaned and is scarcer and more desirable because of it. As grading is subjective, please see the pictures and judge for yourself.
