Description

This is an antique Chinese rice basket intricately woven in a beautiful pattern with
tsutsu dake
(aged bamboo). Very likely originally used for carrying grain. It weighs over 3 pounds.
It has been in storage or carefully displayed for much of the past century and with exception to some minor signs of wear, this basket remains in
very good condition
. The handle is a bit loose and it looks like there was an attempted repair with glue to stabilize the handle. It
measures 22" long (56 cm) by 17 1/2" wide (44.5 cm) by 15" tall (38 cm).
