    Description

    A medium sized antique single handled grain measure from Shanxi Province, China estimated at 1950s. These rustic containers are used for measuring a specific about of grain. Most likely from the Communist Era when a certain amount of grain was allotted to each person or family. This box features iron bindings on the corners and shows that the wood was once stapled together to secure cracks.
