Up for auction is a perfume sampler box that reads:  Colgate’s Young Peoples Perfumes.  However, the mini perfume bottles with gorgeous labels are not from Colgate.  Rather these 4 little mini perfumes have labels from two French perfumers:  A. Picard Paris and C.H. Fay.  I don’t know if these are reproductions, or if they are original.  I bought this set at a flea market over 20+ years ago.  This set is really a conundrum for me.
The condition of the pink papered box is very good, which makes me think the box has been reproduced, I don’t know.
But, I wonder if the perfume bottles are original, and someone just placed them in this box?   The fragrance labels on the clear glass mini perfumes have glass bottles that lack the perfection of our manufactured bottles made today.  Plus, the bottles are probably corked with a silver covering.  None of the bottles have been opened.
Both perfumers did produce these fragrances.  I found on the web that:
Parfum Violettes de France by A. Picard, Paris was introduced in 1920
Parfum Au Petunia d’Amerique was a fragrance by A. Picard, but no date was listed on when this was introduced.
Parfum Deuces de France by A. Picard, I could not locate
Mirka, by C.H. Fay, Paris was introduced in 1895
Height of each bottle is roughly 2 1/8 inches tall.
I also found that A. Picard (Probably Alfred Picard was Commissioner – General) who working with others to plan for the 1900 Paris Exposition in 1892.
I have seen some old perfume bottle labels for both Picard and Fay over the years on ebay.  I guess I will leave this up to someone who is curious about the fragrances.  The fragrances/parfums are not guaranteed.
