    Here is a very rare very early vintage original autographed oversize 11" by 14"photo of opera singer and actress Grace Moore (1898-1947), from her prime in the 1930s, dated 1937 in the inscription. Photo by and stamped by Hollywood photographer A.L. Shafer. Grace Moore was a soprano who debuted at the Metropolitan Opera in 1928. Grace Moore, the internationally famous star of the Metropolitan Opera, Broadway, motion pictures, radio and recordings, was born December 5, 1898, in Del RĂ­o near Newport, Tennessee. Her family moved to Jellico when she was a young girl. She attended Jellico High School where she was captain of the girls basketball team in 19l6. She was selected by Florenz Ziegfeld of Ziegfeld Follies fame as one of the ten most beautiful women in the world. She was nominated for an Academy Award for her motion picture, "One Night of Love", and was the subject of a movie titled, "So This is Love", in which Kathryn Grayson portrayed the "Tennessee Nightingale", as Grace was called. She died tragically in an airplane crash in 1947 at the height of her career. Moore starred in several M-G-M and Columbia films of the 1930s. She was dubbed "The Tennessee Nightengale", helped popularize opera in a string of successful productions, including One Night of Love (1934), for which she was nominated for a Best Actress Academy Award. Moore was killed in a plane crash over Copenhagen during a European concert tour in 1947. Minor corner and edge wear, corner creasing, minor bends. Very rare.
