Description
Up for auction is a vintage L. Legrand Paris Perfume Bottle for the fragrance:
Deja Le Printemps
. I found documentation indicating this fragrance was introduced in 1922.
On the web, I found some very interesting documentation on the history of this perfume house. La Maison L. Legrand was founded in 1720 under Louis XV. For several hundred years, this company was very successful in the perfume manufacturing. Fargeon Aȋné, was a member of the renowned Montpellier based perfume family Fargeon. It was whispered that he received his perfumes and cosmetic recipes from the famous courtesan Ninon de Lenclose, who was a beauty in the court. This association made his reputation and Oriza’s legend began. His successors, Antonin Raynaud and L. Legrand developed this heritage thru modern times. They opened a factory and became industrialists which helped establish perfume as a luxury item. I believe this bottle is from the time period of Raynaud and Legrand due to the age of the label and information written under the name of the fragrance, the side label; and the embossed Paris France on the underside of the label.
The glass bottle is a molded rectangle with several curved panels on the top of the bottle that go down the bottle sides.
Considering the age of the bottle the condition is good
The paper label is faded, but the design on the paper label, is original. See photo 3. When you look at the faint writing at the bottom of the paper label you can read:
ORIZA
L. LEGRAND
PARIS
The rectangular frosted stopper is very beautiful for a molded stopper and a little dirty. There are some small chips at end of stopper. I believe the stopper top mimics the orange and black designs of the label
The neck of the bottle has several flea bites around the neck, not surprising considering the age is about 100 years old
There is a round label on the side of the bottle which I have seen on another Oriza L. Legrand bottle.

There is still a small amount of fragrance remaining, but due to age, it is not guaranteed
Underside of the bottle is embossed: PARIS FRANCE
Dimensions of the bottle are: about 2 ½ inches tall and 2 1/8 inches wide
Shipping is free to winning domestic bidder. I will secure stopper with Parafilm to secure perfume from leaking out of the bottle. If you live in Texas, will need to pay state sales tax. Email me any questions. If you like what you see here, please take the time to check out the other vintage items I have up for auction. Thanks!
